straw dog

dog, donkey. Insults received from the husband of my employer. I must recognize that practically every day, be it subtle or very evident, I have to hear insults addressed at me. I cannot recall any praise for what I do at work. Luckily I have the chance to meet tourists, with which there's almost always something good that happens. I am attending a course on sign language and therefore I'm particularly sensitive to body language these days. A couple entered the hotel and I could feel they were going to ask a question because they waited a millisecond in front of me when I handed the key. And I was surprised I even anticipated what they were going to ask me a millisecond later: a cup of hot water. It was the client's body language, the time (late evening), the context and the guest movement of both hands. I've been so quick that the guest went on finishing his sentence even though I had just said what he wanted. I told him that I had just anticipated what he was asking....I didn't need to be told what he wanted, I KNEW IT!!

  1. Nice term there - 'interfear'. (As well as 'dentist's lighthouse' in another post.) I hope you don't mind that I borrow them sometimes...

    Grazie for following my blog.
