a day to remember

Today, December 18 2007, I have done my first public simultaneous interpretation. It has been at the university and with a public of about 60 people. Most of them didn't need an interpretation into Italian from German because they are German. I was not the official interpreter being it the first time for me. Nobody listened to me probably, apart my professor, but I have switched on the microphone anyhow, just to make it as real as possible. There were 2 students who did the official service in the boot n.1. I was in the boot number 2 just behind them together with Ulrike. I found the experience very nice, the atmosphere was relaxed and I have realized that it is an amazing experience that must be different each time you do it.
Dr Gabriele Wiemeyer was helding the workshop-conference about intercultural competence. I think the topic is the perfect one to start doing such a wonderful job.
