Working 8 hours on Sundays

At the beginning working on Sundays was saddening. Now I'm used to it, I don't see anything strange in working when everybody is having fun, relaxing, meeting friends. I get 6 euros extra in my paycheck for every Sunday and all this huge extra money disappears from my pockets thanks to provincial and communal taxes. I can actually see the money written on the payslip I get every month and then the tax withdrawal that cancels my Sunday working efforts just below.
I remember I used to go to church on Sundays trying to find peace of mind and some spiritual focusing before going to work. During the moyen-age people caught working on Sundays were sentenced to death. Now everybody can work willingly or unwillingly. To work is such a good thing, they tell us, that we shouldn't think about doing anything else. I work 40 hours a week and I have the money just enough not to starve. I have to do a second job if I want to build a family and have children. In the Medioevo working was not considered so nice and praiseworthy, on the contrary, it was seen as a torment, a curse humanity had to bare. But I'm sure they had a lot of fun on Sundays with their families and lots of children.
